Life Matters in Recovery was recommended to me as a renowned outpatient after-care option by the team at the inpatient facility I’d attended.
Immediately after giving Wion a phone call, he made sure to meet up with me to chat face to face.
At the time I was in such denial of my personal issue and remained so while attending the Life Matters primary after-care program. I was completely unaware of what the possibilities were for me once I opened myself up to receiving their help.
Through regular attendance of the group sessions I began to learn that whatever process I was in, I could be vulnerable and fully myself and share it with the Life Matters team. Bit by bit with trust and honesty and under Wion’s care my resolve started to strengthen and I started to become committed to working with him to become a healthier version of myself.
Fast forward one year and I am starting to love myself again and love the person I am becoming. After years of seeing various psychologists and psychiatrists, I often ask myself why seeing Wion works for me. I think some of the reasons include that he has the memory of an elephant, is incredibly personal with the counsel he gives to each patient, has lived life empathetically meaning when he understands, he really understands and has the experience, insight and intelligence necessary for dealing with sometimes cunning addicts.
I love the down to earth nature of our sessions and practical tools I can use to apply in my everyday life.
